Gerig Surgical Associates, P.C. is a group surgical practice. While one surgeon will be in
charge of your care and perform your surgery, you may be visited by one or all of the
physicians in our group during your hospital stay. All of our surgeons will be knowledgeable
with your case -- our physicians meet on a regular basis to discuss diagnostic and patient
care strategies.
The benefits to our patients of this group approach are numerous: Case reviews by the entire surgical group can provide insights that might be missed by a sole practitioner; patients are not kept waiting in our lobby by a physician detained in an emergency surgery since we can give you the option of seeing another physician; and the group practice allows the doctors to take the necessary time off for continued postgraduate medical education in the rapidly advancing field of surgical procedures.
